WHO WE ARE

Standing
in solidarity.

Echoes of Equality is a youth-led, human-centered nonprofit initiative founded by a current U.S. high-school student. Drawing from his family’s experience within the hearing-aid industry, our team has observed that many people with hearing impairments and neurodivergent individuals hold rich inner worlds. Persistent public misconceptions, however, often bar them from equal access to social gatherings and community events. A great deal of well-meaning support stops at material donations, leaving the deeper need for equal dignity and mutual acceptance largely unaddressed.

Motivated by this observation, we launched this program. Our mission does not pursue systemic policy reform. Instead, we aim to create gradual, bottom-up shifts in public attitudes. Centered on genuine community companionship, we host educational outreach for the broader public, arrange peer exchanges between people with hearing loss, neurodivergent participants and neurotypical teenagers, and build two-way communication channels to ease misunderstanding and stereotyping. We also offer mutual-support spaces for families of people with special needs, allowing caregivers to share practical, day-to-day guidance.

Upholding our core value of standing in solidarity with others, we respect every individual’s identity and reject labels based purely on physical differences. Our long-term vision is to cultivate a more inclusive and welcoming social environment, so that all people with special needs can feel a sense of belonging and participate fully in everyday community life on an equal footing.

EQUALITY BEYOND HEARING

Our mission

ECHOES OF EQUALITY

Echoes of Equality works to lower communication and daily-life barriers for people with hearing impairments. Through free hearing screenings, hearing-health education, community services and technological innovation, we deliver necessary support and resources to broader populations, so that hearing-related challenges will no longer hinder people from equal opportunities in life.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe variations in hearing ability ought not to restrict anyone from engaging in community life, pursuing goals, or voicing themselves.

LONG-TERM VISION

Our mission goes well beyond helping individuals hear. We aim to foster a society in which every person can be heard, understood and valued.

PRODUCTS

Our products

Audiometer

A clinical audiometer used to measure hearing sensitivity. It plays calibrated tones across a range of frequencies and volumes, and records the quietest level a person can hear at each one.

Those readings show how hearing differs by pitch, and they guide what happens next — monitoring, referral, or a fitting for hearing aids.

PulsePath

A wearable haptic navigation prototype for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people. PulsePath explores how vibration can convey turn directions and alert wearers to nearby obstacles.

Wearable Device

The second generation of our wearable device. It is worn as a belt at the waist and driven by a small controller unit, and it is intended for people who cannot depend on spoken instruction while moving.

The video below shows the device worn at the waist, the phone interface used alongside it, and the wearer stretching and walking through a neighborhood.
